Drill: Slow: Dodge Game

The two players alternate throwing shots and dodging.

two people stand within range. the leader of the drill throws a slow shot at the opponent. nothing fancy just a snap or a leg or an offside, no wraps or thrusts at this point.

The the follower dodges slowly to the best of their ability with the advantage of the time to think about the arcs. When the shot is finished and the person who threw the shot is returning to their ready position. (still with slow work, may as well work on form while you are at it. The following player then gets to throw a shot which the formerly leading player then dodges in much the same way.

The first few times you do the drill you need to keep the movements simple.  As you get better at the drill and more comfortable at reading the arcs and reacting accordingly then you can start to add more complex movements.

for example put together a list of dodgegame variants and do a new one each practice. (after always doing one of the simple one first.)

Start with simple arc shot dodging(always)

Move up to the 6 points on a pell shots as the shots dodged

the two shot combo as the shots dodged. You can go up to 4 shot combo's if you wish for the experience.

the wrap dodges

the thrust dodges

The all shots count dodges.

 All shots count multishot combo's

etc.
